Information and Exhibition Centre Tali-Ihantala

- DESCRIPTION: The information and media centre for the cavalry heritage of Lappeenranta and the defensive battles of the Continuation War in 1944. The 1000 sqm entrance pavillion in between two late 18th century barrack buildings housing the exhibition spaces will be the first new building in the historical surroundings of Lappeenranta fortress since 1970’s. The building comprising the main entrance, cafeteria, museum shop and an underground multimedia theatre is characterised by free views through the glazed building and a free-form hipped copper roof that connects the building to the existing buildings of the fortress.
