  • STATUS: Open competition 2007, 1st prize, completion 2012
  • LOCATION: Espoo, Finland
  • DESCRIPTION: 10000 sqm school building for 750 pupils, including a day-care centre, preschool, classes from 1 to 9 and a youth house. The school building opens towards the plaza and becomes a focal point for the Saunalahti area. An undulating copper roof gathers all functions together. The terraced yard forms an outdoor auditorium extending the plaza.
