  • LOCATION: Helsinki, Finland
  • DESCRIPTION: The block sits high up on a rocky ridge with far reaching views of the surroundings. The three buildings have been carefully tailored to fit among the beautiful bare boulders creating a sheltered and rocky yard for the inhabitants. The monolithic architecture of the exterior emphasizes the plasticity of these urban townhouses rising from amid the boulders. As a contrast to the uniform eaves, the height of the stone plinth undulates following the forms of the landscape. The plastered facades vary subtly in shade thus animating the monolithic architecture.
